Hi! I’m Anait and I’ve been working as a Senior Test Automation Engineer at CHECK24 Car Rentals in Augsburg since May 2024. I originally come from the fashion industry, but I’ve always had a passion for technology. In 2017, I made my way into IT as a Mobile QA Engineer and have been growing step by step ever since.
Today, my favorite "look" is: stable tests and clean code.
A big part of my work revolves around UI end-to-end testing – writing tests, maintaining them, discussing them in code reviews, and aligning closely with developers and product managers.
The goal is always to catch bugs as early as possible and provide fast feedback to the team.
I’m also involved in releases: I support the analysis of test runs in our CI environment and help track down bugs.
And sometimes, the issue isn’t in the app – it’s in the test itself. That’s part of the job too.
Without Slack, Bitbucket, our CI tool TeamCity, my favoriteIDE – and of course coffee – I’m not functional in the morning.
My daily companions are TypeScript, Playwright, and Docker. With PhpStorm, I add QA selectors directly to the frontend project to improve testability.
For code quality, I rely on tools like ESLint, Prettier, and Husky. And when it comes to repetitive tasks while writing tests, Cursor lends a hand.
What I really appreciate about CHECK24 is that new technologies and ideas are trulywelcome – and that we have the freedom to try things out.
Plenty of team lunches, workshops, and events add a nice variety to the daily routine.
Anait, Test Automation Engineering
My start at CHECK24 was immediately sweetened with a trip to Calabria/Italy – sunshine, the sea, and a relaxed atmosphere. I had only been part of the team for a few days when I gotto join – the perfect start!
Another highlight was participating in Hacktoberfest – a great opportunity to look beyondthe day-to-day work and contribute to the official Playwright repo.
And let’s not forget: the CHECKitos Run – a fun sporting event where you get to meetcolleagues outside the office. I’ll be joining again this year!
What motivates me most is when our tests detect bugs early on. That way, we make sure issues don’t even make it into the next stages of development.
When everything works together – tests, processes, team – the work just feels right.
Good tests don’t just bring confidence & trust – they bring teams together.
After work, I usually need to move – jogging, yoga, or a bit of acrobatics. Sometimes I enjoy learning something new or picking up the camera, if I feel like it. And sometimes, I just end up on the couch and enjoy doing absolutely nothing.
