Alex has already been working at CHECK24 for six years. From his start as a junior customer advisor, he has been able to develop all the way to a payment expert. In this interview, he reveals more about the career opportunities at CHECK24 and tells us how the start of customer consulting actually works.

Hello Alex, please introduce yourself briefly.
Alex:

Servus, I'm Alex, 28 years old, and I have been working at CHECK24 for six years. I completed my apprenticeship as an office administrator in an energy company in 2012. After that, I worked in sales until I switched to CHECK24 as a junior customer advisor in 2017. Thanks to the significant development opportunities, I was able to advance to the position of an Expert in Payment.

What exactly are your tasks in customer management?
Alex:

In customer management, I am responsible for the payment area in our task force. There, we deal with written inquiries from customers. In this context, I also support my colleagues if there are queries about our payment area. These can be inquiries about payment problems, comprehension questions, debit agreements, and buyer protection cases in the PayPal, ApplePay, and credit card systems. In addition, I also deal with daily customer queries and support our customers in this regard. From my side, my area of responsibility is quite varied, which makes my work a lot of fun.

How does the entry into customer consulting work?
Alex:

First, our new starters receive an intensive induction from our trainers during the first ten days. There, all new starters are together and are introduced to the rental car sector theoretically and with practice-related tasks. After these ten days, each new starter is assigned a buddy. With this buddy, you handle the first customer inquiries in writing and by telephone. However, it is not just the buddy but every single colleague, whether junior or senior customer advisor, who is there for our new starters and provides support at all times because we are a team.

What advice would you give to potential applicants?
Alex:

A good motivation for me, especially since I come from a sales background, is our CHECK24 guideline, "Unconditional Customer Orientation."

Potential applicants should enjoy treating every customer as if they were a friend. If you can do that, you've come to the right place.

Team Home Office or Office?

I like working in the office because I appreciate the exchange between colleagues, and I also like the CHECK24 location in Munich.

Alex:
