Patrice shares a personal insight into her start as a Customer Advisor for Property Insurance, talks about her responsibilities in the field of personal liability insurance, and reveals which skills truly matter in customer consulting — and what makes CHECK24 a special employer for her.
After successfully completing my vocational training as an insurance and financial services specialist in June 2025, I decided to start a new journey in customer consulting. I chose to join CHECK24 as a Junior Customer Advisor for Property Insurance. In my role, I work specifically in the area of personal liability insurance.
In my role as a Customer Advisor, I support both existing and new customers by phone and digitally on all topics related to personal liability insurance. This includes answering questions about coverage, handling contract changes, and forwarding and supporting claims to the respective insurance companies. In addition, I assist new customers with our tariff comparison, explain the differences between the insurance providers, and help them find a suitable policy.
CHECK24 was recommended to me during my time at vocational school by classmates who were already working in customer consulting. I applied via the careers website and was then invited to an on-site interview. From my very first day there, I received a warm welcome and immediately felt comfortable — especially thanks to the informal “first-name” culture.
The strong team spirit and the informal “Du” culture. I was warmly welcomed from the very beginning and feel very comfortable thanks to the open and friendly way we interact with each other. We support one another with professional questions and always work together to find the best solution for our customers.
Patrice, Customer Service
If I’m unable to answer a question immediately, I rely on the support of my team. I can always exchange ideas with my colleagues, and we frequently help each other with technical questions. Through this close collaboration, we are always able to find the right solution for our customers together.
To be successful in customer consulting, it’s especially important to be communicative, open-minded, and motivated. A friendly manner, empathy, and enjoying working with people are also essential. In addition, you should be open to new things, willing to learn, and motivated to continuously develop yourself.
After work, I like to go to the gym to balance out my workday and clear my head. On other days, I spend time with my family, enjoy meals together, relax with a good book, or occasionally meet up with my colleagues to wind down the evening together.
