Nina, Employer Branding & Talent Relations Specialist

I’m Nina, 25 years old, and I’ve been responsible for employer branding and talent relations at CHECK24 Insurance since February 2024. I’m part of the recruiting team in Munich but also support the insurance locations in Hamburg and Frankfurt. Originally, I’m from Cologne, where I completed my bachelor’s degree in Educational Sciences. After that, I earned my master’s degree in Management in Lisbon. While searching for the right career opportunity, I eventually found my way to CHECK24 in Munich.

My workday is extremely diverse and varied. Essentially, I am responsible for establishing new university partnerships with suitable institutions at various locations. Additionally, I identify appropriate fairs and events for different target groups and handle the entire organization—from planning and execution to follow-up. On top of that, I focus on social media: with creative posts, I aim to enhance the visibility of CHECK24 Insurance, design flyers and promotional materials, plan giveaways, and analyze current trends—all with the goal of attracting young talents to CHECK24 Insurance.

Exciting! Talent realtions for insurance hadn’t existed in this form before, so I got to build this area from scratch. I was given a "greenfield" with plenty of creative freedom. At the beginning, it wasn’t entirely clear what specific tasks would come my way. As a career starter, I naturally wondered whether I was up to the role. At the same time, that was exactly what appealed to me—a challenging role where I could grow.

With the team, it was a ‘perfect match’ from the very beginning. I immediately felt fully integrated. Even though I’ve only been here for about a year, it feels like I’ve always been part of the team. I’ve received a lot of support and appreciation from all sides—the best proof being that my probation period was already ended after just two months.

In addition to the varied day-to-day work, the collaboration with other locations is particularly special to me. Since I am responsible for employer branding and talent relation nationwide, I often travel to Hamburg and Frankfurt for various events. This gives me the opportunity to meet many different teams and people. I really value being able to build such a large network within the company—and being warmly welcomed by everyone along the way.

The dynamic company culture is definitely at the top of my list—it’s something truly special at CHECK24. The work style is agile, and decisions are made quickly and boldly. You are entrusted with responsibility early on and have the opportunity to make an impact. As a team, we actually do a lot of activities together, so I’ve participated in many great outings and events. As a native of Cologne, the Oktoberfest was definitely a special experience for me—this was my first visit to the Wiesn with the team, and it was so much fun! However, the absolute highlight was definitely our offsite weekend in Malta. A TukTuk tour on Gozo and swimming in the Blue Lagoon are definitely not things you do every day!
