For the first time, CHECK24 is offering its own IT scholarship for students at the Leipzig location. What the program is all about, how the application process works, and what tech talents can look forward to – we talked about all this with Nils, Director IT at CHECK24 in Leipzig.
Hi, my name is Nils, and I work as Director IT at CHECK24 in Leipzig. I’m responsible for the technical development of our package holiday comparison – from the first line of code to the finished product. Together with my team, I help shape the digital future of travel at CHECK24. Our goal: smart software for stress-free travel.
As for the scholarship: we see how much potential students have – especially in IT. It quickly became clear to us that we wanted to support and guide local talents in Leipzig even earlier and more directly. The TechUp IT Scholarship is our way of doing exactly that – personal, practical, and hands-on.
We don’t just provide financial support – we build real relationships. Our scholarship holders get to know our projects, tools, and ways of thinking, and experience what software development in a real product team looks like.
In addition to financial support of €600 per month for one year, scholarship holders benefit above all from meaningful connections: personal mentoring with our experienced IT-CHECKitos, tech events, networking with like-minded people, and insights into our daily work.
We want to actively promote the professional development of committed talents – but those who are part of TechUp will also experience how much fun real team culture can be: legendary parties included.
The scholarship is aimed at students in the Leipzig area enrolled in IT-related programs – such as Computer Science or Business Informatics. In addition to strong technical skills, we especially value curiosity and a passion for coding.
Applications can be submitted easily online via our website. We require a CV, a current transcript of academic performance, and a solution to our CHECK24 Coding Challenge. Optional: feel free to include private coding projects.

Exactly, it’s an essential part of the application. It gives applicants the chance to tackle a practical task – with enough room to demonstrate technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a unique approach. The focus isn’t on the perfect solution but rather a clear, well-structured approach and clean, readable code.
We want to introduce tech talents to modern software development early on – in all its diversity. At the same time, it’s a great opportunity for our team to gain fresh ideas and share their knowledge.
Go for it! You don’t have to be perfect – we’re looking for potential and motivation. If you’re passionate about IT, open to new things, and eager to grow, then you’re exactly who we’re looking for.
