Michael:
Hi there! I'm Michi, and I work as a Product Manager in the Back Office team at CHECK24 Travel in Leipzig. After studying Sports Economics and Business Management, I was looking for an exciting job where I could take on responsibility right from the start and bring in my own ideas—all in a city where you can truly feel at home. I found that perfect combination at CHECK24. I've now been part of the team for almost three years, and I'm still excited about the variety my job offers.
What exactly are your responsibilities as a Product Manager at CHECK24 Travel?
Michael:
We act as the central data hub for many other teams—for example, Customer Service or our chatbot team. Our goal is to design processes that allow customers to handle their travel-related requests—from rebooking to online check-in—quickly and easily.
To achieve that, I focus heavily on customer feedback and keep a close eye on current market developments. The main task is to identify meaningful opportunities for optimization and develop the right solutions to further enhance the customer experience. Implementation then takes place in close collaboration with our IT team.

Michael:

What is the most exciting part of Product Management for you?
Michael:
Definitely the speed at which ideas are implemented – it's often a short journey from the first idea to the GoLive. And because of the close collaboration with the management team, decisions can be made quickly. Additionally, seeing the direct impact of your work is incredibly motivating!
What advice would you give to potential applicants who are also interested in Product Management?
Michael:
Dare to take new paths — "outside the box" ideas are always welcome here, and mistakes are part of the learning process. And my most important tip: just apply! Many of the things that define CHECK24 can be felt right in the first conversation.
And finally, tell us: What does a typical evening look like for you?
Michael:
Sports are almost always part of my routine — usually with one of the many sports groups organized by CHECK24, like soccer, bouldering, or padel. Alternatively, I like to unwind in one of the many cafés, bars, or parks here in Leipzig.
