Two days packed with practical insights into development processes, test strategies and AI trends.: At CHECK.conf 2025, developers engaged in intensive discussions, learned from project experiences, and discovered smart solutions—technical depth meets real added value.
On June 27 and 28, the cinema in Leipzig became the stage for our second internal IT conference. The goal: to showcase the best ideas, tools, and best practices from within the company so that we can learn from each other and improve our skills (and products) together.
For two days, everything revolved around topics relevant to our developers, from additional sessions covered CI/CD pipelines and CCC messages, logging and monitoring, and topics ranging from working methods to team structures. Speakers from various teams provided practical insights into projects, their experiences, and smart solutions. The mix of technical depth and open discussions made CHECK.conf 2025 an exchange platform with real added value for software developers.
Our CHECKitos are located throughout Germany. To enable everyone to make their own decisions in their respective areas, we try to set up our IT units as independently as possible from one another. That is why CHECK.conf aims to highlight proven best practices across locations and enable people to learn from one another and improve their skills—and thus also the product.
With CHECK.conf, we have created a format that brings together expertise across locations and teams. The conference provides a space for exchange, collaborative learning, and networking.
The conference was opened by Philipp Kemper (CTO CHECK24), who presented his vision for our next “level up” in his keynote speech and provided concrete insights into our strategy for technical development.
The subsequent talks, developed independently by the software developers, covered many topics, including AI agents, agent-based architectures for test automation, and the optimal architecture for in-memory databases. Best practices from large projects were also shared, such as the personalized annual review in the CHECK24 app, which our CTO task force, consisting of talented young professionals, implemented in just three months. Of course, the CHECKito spirit could not be missing at CHECK.conf, so after the first day was over, we celebrated in style!
Day 2 started with a deep dive into our AI future, presented from the managing directors of our AI Business Units Tamara Pfister and Andreas Thurn. The focus was on the question: How can we continue to offer our users real added value even when they use ChatGPT in almost all situations? The answer lies in a more targeted use of LLMs in combination with RAG – to respond to internal knowledge and customer inquiries even more intelligently and precisely. Greg McKeown (author of the book “Essentialism”) concluded by reminding us to focus on the essentials in our daily lives, including: fewer meetings, more focus on coding.
CHECK.conf was just the beginning—now things are really getting started! You can say a lot on stage, but we also put it into practice. That's why a workshop was held on the Monday after the conference to put the plans from the opening keynote into action.
Our motto: Level Up—we're not satisfied with the status quo.
