What does starting a career in Product Management at CHECK24 look like? Lara works as a Junior Product Manager and develops digital features for health insurances – from concept to implementation together with the IT team. In this interview, she shares insights into her daily work, explains why she chose CHECK24 after graduating, and talks about the opportunities Product Management offers for career growth.
Hi, I’m Lara and I’m a Junior Product Manager responsible for the products hospital supplementary insurance, alternative practitioner supplementary insurance, vision care supplementary insurance and long-term care supplementary insurance. After completing my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, I joined CHECK24 directly.
As a Product Manager, I often work on a larger main project. Past projects have included, for example, building an online purchase flow for an insurance contract or setting up the automated forwarding of invoices to insurers.
In general, the role involves conceptualizing new features and planning their implementation together with the IT team. This includes coordinating the individual implementation steps, testing the features and providing feedback to the IT team so that adjustments can be made to achieve the best possible result.
Alongside these projects, smaller topics come up every day—for example requests from Customer Management, supporting other Product Managers or working on smaller side projects. We also test live deployments every day.
It was important to me to work in a company with fast processes and a high level of agility. I also wanted a varied working day with new challenges all the time.
During the interview process, this was exactly the picture of CHECK24 that was conveyed to me—and it has definitely proven to be true in my day-to-day work.
A varied working day with constantly new challenges.

At CHECK24, you’re challenged and therefore able to quickly develop new skills. Both in Product Management and within the IT team, everyone is very supportive and happy to explain new topics, which allows you to learn a lot professionally.
You’re also given responsibility for important and challenging projects relatively early on. With this responsibility comes the opportunity to grow and develop further.
Right now, my focus is on continuing to develop professionally and gaining more experience in Product Management. In the long term, I can definitely see myself taking on more responsibility for specific product areas.
Be open to new things. Product Management is extremely versatile, and especially right after graduation you have the chance to learn a lot in a short time and get to know many different topics.
