Dennis, Team Lead Customer Service
Dennis joined the customer service team in April 2022 and has been a Team Lead at CHECK24 Car Rentals since May 2025. In this interview, he talks about his development intoa leadership role, the use of artificial intelligence and shares a piece of advice that still guides him today.
Hello Dennis, please introduce yourself.
Dennis:
Hi, I'm Dennis, 24 years old, and I work at CHECK24 Car Rentals in the field of customerservice – currently in the role of Team Lead. Before joining CHECK24, I worked for twoyears as an automotive sales consultant. Eventually, I was looking for new challenges and decided to apply at CHECK24.
You progressed from Junior to Team Lead – how has your daily work changed over the years?
Dennis:
In the beginning, my main focus was clearly on direct customer support: answering inquiries, solving problems quickly, and making sure every customer leaves the conversation with a good feeling.
But over the course of 2024, I became increasingly aware that I wanted to move into a leadership role. In January 2025, I took on the position of Deputy Team Lead in Augsburg.
That noticeably changed my daily work – today, as Team Lead at our new site in Nuremberg, my key responsibilities include employee development meetings, coaching sessions, active listening, and managing daily operations.
In which processes does AI support the work in customer service and how does it affect your day-to-day work?
Dennis:
Artificial intelligence has become an indispensable part of our everyday work. Many of ourinternal tools already use AI to support us in our day-to-day business.
In particular, we save a lot of time when it comes to answering and translating emails.Tools like ChatGPT have become an integral part of our workflow.
Compared to the past, the difference is clear – automation of certain tasks allows us to focus more on individual customer concerns and team collaboration.

How would you describe your leadership style? What is especially important to you in working with your team?
Dennis:
My leadership style is strongly characterized by closeness and trust. It’s very important tome that my team always knows: I’m approachable, I always have an open ear, and I’mavailable for any question.
When trust, appreciation, and clear communication are actively lived within a team, thisforms the foundation for productive collaboration. Everyone can contribute their potential, and together we reach the quality and performance we strive for.
Great results don’t just happen – they are the outcome of strong teamwork.
What is the onboarding process like in customer service at CHECK24? What can new colleagues expect?
Dennis:
Starting at CHECK24 is super relaxed and welcoming. New colleagues are greeted with open arms and quickly feel like part of the team. From the very first onboarding day through tothe training, everything is very well organized – you find your way around quickly and immediately notice: the vibe here is great.

And finally, tell us: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received – and would like to pass on?
Dennis:
The best advice I’ve received in my career came from my former Team Lead and was:
“Be patient – it will be worth it.”
This sentence has stayed with me ever since. Especially in stressful phases or when things don’t progress immediately, this thought helps me stay focused and think long term.
