Anastasiia, Finance & Business Intelligence
Since April 2024, Anastasiia has been working as an accountant at AurumCars in Augsburg, CHECK24's own car rental provider. In the interview, she talks about the strategic importance of Finance, the role of automation in the daily finance routine and the open company culture at CHECK24.
Hello Anastasiia, please introduce yourself.
Anastasiia:
Hello! I'm Anastasiia and I've been working as an accountant at AurumCars since April 2024. Before starting here in Augsburg, I was also working in the finance sector in my home country. After that, I took some time for my family during parental leave.
What exactly are your tasks in the area of Finance & Business Intelligence at AurumCars?
Anastasiia:
In my role, I'm mainly responsible for reviewing our partner invoices, handling the weekly payment run, and coordinating with our payment providers. Overall, we cover almost all areas of accounting. That’s why I’m especially happy that my contribution and experience have been purposefully utilized right from the start.
How do you explain to someone that Finance is much more than just numbers and balance sheets?
Anastasiia:
To me, finance is the strategic heart of a company. It's about much more than numbers and balance sheets – it's about understanding business models, properly assessing risks, and making well-informed decisions.
Finance provides the foundation that allows visions to become reality – through planning, control, and foresight.

Definitely: my team and the work-life balance I’ve found here as a mother of two children!

Was there anything that really surprised you when you joined the Finance team at CHECK24 – something you didn’t expect at all?
Anastasiia:

To what extent do artificial intelligence or automation already play a role in your day-to-day work in the Finance team?
Anastasiia:
Automation and where useful, also AI, have become indispensable in our daily finance operations. They allow us to handle many tasks, such as processing invoices, goodwill credits, or data reconciliation, much more efficiently, quickly, and with fewer errors.
What really matters: by using these technologies, we gain time for what truly counts – focusing on partner requests, strategic planning, and close collaboration with other teams.
