After completing her healthcare training, Sara joined CHECK24. She has been working at the Hamburg site since August 2019 as a Customer Advisor for Statutory Health Insurance and tells us what makes her job unique and why CHECK24 was the right career choice for her.

Hi Sara, tell us about yourself and your career at CHECK24.
Sara:

I’m Sara, 25 years old, and I started at CHECK24 in Hamburg in August 2019. Before that, I completed my commercial training in healthcare at a health insurance company and am now a Customer Advisor for Statutory Health Insurance. We advise customers about transferring their health insurance and support them throughout the process. The daily routine is never dull, as CHECK24 offers many development opportunities. For example, I’ve been taking on more responsibilities over the years and now look after our trainee students with another colleague.

What is a typical working day for you?
Sara:

Sometimes I start at 8 a.m. and on other days at 12:30 p.m. - it depends on my duty roster as we work shifts in our team to operate our customer hotline from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thanks to mobile working, you get your free time well balanced with the shifts, and I like to use the time in the morning during my late shift to do some sport.

When I get to work, I check incoming customer emails and dial the hotline to ensure good customer availability. The main task involves processing applications for health insurance transfers and advising customers on transferring their health insurance. Then there are always various conversations with my colleagues in between - we are a very young team, and there is something to laugh about every day. Our central location means I can take breaks by the Outer Alster Lake or have lunch on the Lange Reihe.

What makes your job as a Customer Advisor so exciting?
Sara:

Every day is different, and there are always new tasks, exciting conversations with our customers, and sometimes an odd tricky case that we resolve together as a team. The job is diverse as we have lots of different customers. By collaborating with health insurance providers, we also have contact with partners at those companies and talk to them regularly. At CHECK24, there is no “authoritative” structure as we’re a modern company where ideas are taken seriously and implemented quickly.

What do you like most about working at CHECK24?
Sara:

The best things are the employees and our fantastic location. Everything is bright, open, and modern, and we have a large rooftop terrace where we enjoy barbecues together in summer or enjoy beautiful views of the Alster all year round. In addition, the regular events that have started up again make CHECK24 a unique employer. Another bonus is our free CHECKito team lunches.

What would you tell someone who is interested in working as a Customer Advisor for CHECK24?
Sara:

You should enjoy working with customers and be open to constantly optimizing processes as we continually improve and move with the times. In addition, basic knowledge in the field of healthcare would be an advantage but optional. Most importantly, you want to make a difference and are highly motivated!
