Max advises our customers on a daily basis on everything regarding mobile communications while enjoying views of the Cologne Cathedral. In this interview, he tells us how he started off and got integrated at CHECK24, the flexibility his job offers and why his job inspires him every day.
I’m Max, 33 years old, a business studies graduate and I’ve been working for CHECK24 in Cologne since October 2017. I started as a Junior Customer Advisor and have progressed to become a Senior. I advise our customers on everything regarding mobile communications and I’m responsible for this areas various processes. Since we support our customers through multiple channels, I’m, among others, responsible for customer enquiries on social media which brings exciting versatility. I also work in the Complaints department, where I’m responsible for the communication between customers and providers to resolve any issues.
I found out about CHECK24 through an employment agency and was accepted after an initial telephone interview followed by an in-person interview. The integration period was very welcoming as I was given a direct contact person for new starters. I also met all of the employees from various departments early on and felt right at home straight away.

Since we have a large selection of tariffs and providers, it’s important to stay up to date. Every day, I feel like our customers are very grateful for the support they get from us.
In addition to my interesting tasks, CHECK24 offers a free job ticket, a yearend bonus, mobile working, regular free CHECKito lunches, a muesli bar and well-stocked drinks fridges where I can grab a coke in the lunchbreak or a beer after work. The regular parties and team events organised for all of the employees provide great food and drinks and create a great atmosphere. It never gets boring around here.
My team is based at the MediaPark in Cologne and we have large, bright offices with views of the Cologne Cathedral. Our teams work shifts from 8 a.m to 5 p.m or from 11 a.m to 8 p.m to ensure availability for our customers. You could also do a later shift from 1 p.m to 10 p.m or come in on weekends. For weekend shifts, you’re given a compensation day and an extra bonus. This means that you won’t need to take a day off for an important appointment. My day isn’t just flexible in terms of hours - I sometimes call customers, write emails and occasionally call our partners. A colourful mix of everything that needs to be done.
