Dana, Maria & Anna, Human Resources Support

Dana, Anna, and Maria have already started to build up the HR department at the CHECK24 location in Vienna in 2022. Their goal is to create an excellent working atmosphere and to provide their protégés with advice and support.

Hello, you three. Please introduce yourselves briefly.
Dana:

Hey, I'm Dana, 25 years old, and I've been working as an HR generalist since the middle of last year.

Anna:

Hi, I'm Anna, 22 years old, I'am studying work design and human resources for my bachelor's degree and I'am also working as a student trainee at CHECK24.

Maria:

Hey, I'm Maria, 24 years old. I'm currently writing my master's thesis in sociology, and I'm also working as a student trainee in HR.

You are a pretty small team. What are your daily tasks?
Dana:

Of course, there are the usual things, such as salary transfers, processing new applicants, scheduling, and maintaining the HR programs. However, it is important that everyone feels comfortable and can always come to us with any problems.

Maria:

We working students are involved in many different topics. We help with everything that comes up, so to speak. This gives us an insight into a wide variety of tasks.

Anna:

Exactly, we take care of the typical HR tasks, but we are also absolutely involved in office management.

Are you team home office or team office?
Anna:

I think I can speak for all of us that we are definitely Team office.

Dana:

Yes, definitely!

Maria:

Yes, the contact is entirely different. Spending the break together is also much nicer than being alone at home. We have a very familiar relationship here in the office.

The best thing about CHECK24?

The flexibility offered here at CHECK24 allows us to find the perfect balance between studying and working as a student trainee.

Working students, Human Resources Support

Tell me, how do you start your working day?
Dana:

After arriving at the office, I check my e-mails first thing in the morning and briefly overview what's coming up. Then, of course, coffee is a must, preferably with vanilla flavor!

Maria:

Because CHECK24 is very flexible and we can arrange our working hours as working students on our own, I always come in at different times. That makes the balance between university and working student jobs a lot easier. When I arrive, I first log in and see what's currently on the agenda. Even though I don't work full-time, I can work independently and assign my own tasks. There are no hierarchical differences in our company. We help each other where we can.

Anna:

I usually arrive around 9:00 a.m. since my university courses often occur in the evening. Then I also first get an overview. Of course, I also always have my individual projects, which I work through. It's never boring, though, because we get a lot of insight and care for many different things.

What was your most significant learning so far at CHECK24?
Dana:

Setting up the site taught me a lot. There were many new processes to learn and design, but I had a lot of fun despite the effort.

Maria:

Since I come from a completely different field, I learned a lot about HR in general in a short time. I think it's great that I got this opportunity as a career changer.

Anna:

Through my studies, I have already learned a lot of theories about human resources management. So here I put my knowledge into practice, which also helps my studies.

What should you bring with you to get started in HR?
Maria:

I would say empathy, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Dana:

The ability to familiarize yourself with many different topics is definitely an advantage. In addition, organizational talent, the ability to work in a team, and creativity should not be lacking.

Anna:

Exactly, plus you should be empathetic and understanding.

What is the other one of you particularly good at that you admire her for in everyday work?
Dana:

The great thing about Maria is that she is enthusiastic about various tasks! Of course, open tasks are always more fun because you can bring in your ideas and approaches. Still, she also meticulously and reliably completes processes and to-dos that are already firmly established. This makes our day-to-day work much easier, as we can act more quickly as a team if there's ever a fire. In this way, we always have each other's backs.

Anna:

I really have respect for Dana and her work drive, and it is incredible how dedicated she is. She has an astonishing talent for organization!

Maria:

Anna always has an overview of all processes. If you forget something yourself, you can always turn to her. She always remains calm in stressful situations, which I find exceedingly admirable.

And finally, tell us why potential applicants should apply to you in Vienna.
Anna:

Our office is right at Stephansplatz, so it's very central. You can also feel very comfortable in our office! We also serve delicious and varied lunches twice a week.

Maria:

Our office also offers a variety during breaks with table tennis, a play station, and a great terrace to relax on. The work-life balance is definitely given.

Dana:

Our team is excellent. Here you can find not only work colleagues, but also friends who sweeten the working day. In addition, we always have job advertisements where there is something for everyone.
