Are you a registered student and want to enhance your profile with practical experience while studying? Then you've come to the right place!

CHECK24 offers job opportunities for young professionals, experienced professionals, and particularly for students at over 18 sites across Germany. Approximately 20 percent of our advertised jobs are for IT students, for whom we provide the opportunity to gather valuable practical experience as part of an internship or work-study placement.

The decentralized structure of our comparison products and small, agile teams mean that students at CHECK24 can experience diverse tasks and a steep learning curve in a dynamic working environment.

Making coffee and tedious tasks is a thing of the past; personal responsibility and agile project work are what we’re about! Our students are the best people to explain what that looks like, how work and study can be combined, and why working at CHECK24 is so appealing for students:

Julian has been a dual-study student at CHECK24 for almost a year and studies Business Psychology at the FOM in Munich.

Nicole studies Digital Business at the university of applied sciences in Ingolstadt and has been an intern in Product Management for our Cards & Accounts comparison product since February 2021.

Laurenz has been a work-study student for three months in software development at CHECK24 and is studying for a Master’s in Informatics.

Anya is studying for a Master’s in Economics and Law Studies and is a work-study student in product management for our insurance comparison in Hamburg.

Let’s start off with your role, what do you do at CHECK24?
Julian:

My role revolves mainly around the investment center, which covers the entire spectrum: from app releases and bug reports to assistance with customer communication and presenting new features to improve the user experience.

Nicole:

As an intern, I help the Product Managers implement new aspects in the current account comparison and develop concepts for new features and content to improve the user experience.

Laurenz:

I work at CHECK24 Kontomanager on the iOS app. My tasks include implementing new features and fixing bugs. I work closely with product management and other developers to plan and arrange my tasks. The cool thing about it is that I can take on similar tasks independently, such as those of full-time developers but which are often less urgent or less complex due to my shorter working hours.

Anya:

In addition to ad hoc tasks that arrive last minute, I help the product management team to develop the application process. I regularly test the product process, create mock-ups for new features and the associated ticket, provide test reports, and process and evaluate incoming client reviews.

Why CHECK24?

Thanks to the open work culture at CHECK24, it’s relatively easy to learn and try out new working methods and processes. In addition to employee training, team building and knowledge sharing also regularly features on the agenda.

Julian, Work-study student

The amount each student works can be flexibly arranged within the team. Is work and study a good combination for you?
Julian:

The amount I work varies weekly, and that’s up to me. Sometimes there are lot to do, and I’m happy to stay longer to implement the feature as best possible. Other times, everything works on the first go, and you can finish earlier. All in all, the working hours as a dual-study student are around 24-26 hours per week.

Nicole:

Since I finished my internship during the practical semester, I’m now full-time at CHECK24 and can focus 100% on this and broaden my practical knowledge.

Laurenz:

I currently work 16 hours a week to accommodate both my studies and work.

Anya:

For me, the flexible working hours at CHECK24 are very handy as I can work 20 hours a week during the semester and up to 40 hours per week during the break.

Theory and practical experience - Can you directly apply the study content learned at CHECK24?
Julian:

The study course complements the work at CHECK. The economics course, in particular, helps with product management to better understand and follow business processes.

Laurenz:

Working here is a voluntary, practical addition to my studies. Since a degree is mainly theory-based, it’s great to gather practical experience here through diverse tasks.

Why CHECK24?

CHECK24 offers significant, diverse learning effects where you can gather lots of practical and theoretical knowledge.

Nicole, Intern

What do you take with you for your professional and personal development?
Julian:

Thanks to the open work culture at CHECK, it’s relatively easy to learn and try out new working methods and processes. In addition to employee training, team building and knowledge sharing also regularly features on the agenda.

Laurenz:

Although I haven’t been here that long, I’ve noticed that I’ve learned a lot just from working regularly. I’m always given different tasks to advance me professionally. If I can’t manage specific functions by myself, I can always ask a developer for advice, who I naturally learn a lot from. After finishing my tasks, they are reviewed by other developers, and I get lots of beneficial feedback about my work.

Anya:

There are loads to learn here! I’m in good hands with professional and personal development opportunities and look forward to everything I’ve yet to learn.

What advice can you give students that want to go into IT or Product Management?
Julian:

Don’t be afraid to ask questions during your internship or work-study placement! Many processes seem complex at first, but by asking questions, you’ll understand how they work and how best to use them. For Product Managers, in particular, IT is happy to explain the technical processes in detail.

Laurenz:

I can only recommend everything alongside a study course to get practical experience! So whether it’s an internship or work-study placement, you’ll gather lots of professional and personal experience as well as the obvious benefits of earning money and enhancing your CV.

Anya:

I’d advise all students to look at Product Management as it’s an exciting area with diverse tasks.

Why did you choose CHECK24?
Nicole:

CHECK24 offers diverse learning effects where you can gather lots of practical and theoretical knowledge. What’s more, CHECK24 also lets you take on responsibility early on so that you’re soon working on your projects and primarily learn about self-organization and time management.

Laurenz:

CHECK24 is a relatively young company that’s centrally located in Munich. There are plenty of exciting areas, such as native app development. As a newbie, you’re given a chance to work on a large project with experts. Otherwise, the offices are great, and the employees are really friendly. For smart spenders: there’s a free lunch once a week.

Anya:

I was drawn to the employees and good work environment. The flat hierarchies and short decision-making channels allow lots of exciting projects to get underway.
