Sebastian, Customer Advisor

Sebastian has worked in the Pauschalreise department at CHECK24 in Magdeburg for one and a half years. He looks after and advises customers before, during and after their trip. In this interview, Sebastian reveals how he deals with challenging customer situations and what he no longer wants to do without at CHECK24.

Hello Sebastian, please introduce yourself briefly.
Sebastian:

Hello, pleasant to be part of this interview. My name is Sebastian, and I am 37 years old, have worked in the hotel industry for many years and have completed training as a hotel specialist. I have been part of the CHECK24 package tour team for 18 months. From the Magdeburg location, I look after and advise our customers before, during and after their trip on all matters relating to the most wonderful time of the year.

What do you look forward to most when you work on Mondays?
Sebastian:

I even like to come to our office on Fridays, where a small, well-coordinated team of about ten colleagues awaits me with a lot of team spirit and fun in the daily work routine and surprises me positively every day.

How do you feel about the working atmosphere at CHECK24 in Magdeburg?
Sebastian:

I feel that the working atmosphere at the Magdeburg site is very familiar, friendly and extremely fair to every single employee.

Tell us more about the Magdeburger Office! Which location benefits do you like best?
Sebastian:

At the Magdeburg location, we meet regularly for smaller and larger events such as barbecues, bowling, boat trips or simply for a cool drink at the end of the day. We share our experiences, get to know each other better, and of course, we also like to laugh and celebrate together.

What should potential applicants bring with them to get off to a successful start with you?
Sebastian:

To succeed in our customer service department, you should enjoy working with and for other people and have patience. In addition, you should have strong communication skills and enjoy working in a team!

How do you handle enraged customers or challenging customer situations?
Sebastian:

Actually always different, depending on how emotional the customer is.

The challenges are always different, and each client is unique in itself.

Sometimes I show great compassion, and sometimes I listen to our customers because they often just need someone with an ear for their challenge. But not infrequently, we then laugh together with the customers.

Is there anything special about CHECK24 that you can no longer accomplish without?
Sebastian:

The CHECKitospirit. The feeling of belonging to a big family, regardless of whether I'm consulting with colleagues from Dresden, Chemnitz, Halle or Leipzig. We are OneTeam, and this is celebrated in such a way that I would miss it if it were no longer there.

And finally, tell us what motivates you to give your best daily in customer service?
Sebastian:

That we are one of the best is already an excellent motivation. We are regularly trained in a wide variety of topics, and if I can't answer a question from a customer, there are specialists in all areas among our colleagues who can help me with their knowledge. This makes the work immensely pleasant, as you almost always feel you have found a satisfactory solution for the customer. I want to point out once again that this is, after all, the most wonderful time of the year.
