Jeanette has been a product manager at CHECK24's rental car provider AurumCars in Augsburg for almost two years. There, she oversees the technical connection of new rental companies worldwide and focuses on automating internal and external processes. In the interview, she reveals recent successes and why teamwork is particularly important in product management.
Hi, I am Jeanette, and I am 26 years old. I completed an apprenticeship as a foreign language correspondent and an apprenticeship as a tourism clerk at a tour operator. I was then employed there for 1.5 years. Since I wanted to continue my education, I subsequently completed the Business Administration and the Business Administration at the IHK (Chamber of Commerce and Industry). I have now been working as a product manager at AurumCars in Augsburg for almost 2 years.
My area of responsibility is very diverse, so there's never a dull moment in product management. For example, I oversee the technical connection of numerous new rental companies worldwide. In addition, I focus on automating various processes, whether internal customer services processes, such as changing pick-up/return times or external processes, such as the customer's online check-in. But also, the regular day-to-day business is one of my tasks.
Most recently, we introduced the so-called Complaint API. Through the newly developed interface between AurumCars and CHECK24 and the associated automation of the processes, our customer service can process complaints even better and more efficiently. Our customers are particularly pleased about the faster processing, as the complaint process should be as pleasant as possible.
This always depends heavily on the product itself. In the case of the Complaint API, customer feedback is tracked following the launch. In addition, success can be measured based on the processing time of the complaint case - from submission to completion. For new rental companies, for example, the respective turnover and market share are monitored after the successful connection.
Our team attaches great importance to open communication and finding joint solutions to disagreements and conflicts. I like that very much!
Jeanette, Product Manager
In our team, everyone can openly communicate their opinion. Then, in the event of conflicts, we sit down together and try to find a suitable solution everyone can support.
We often work together on large projects or have interconnected individual projects. Thus, working together as a team and exchanging ideas about different areas is very important.
The most exciting part for me is improving our portfolio and customer service. I also like the close collaboration with IT. You can learn a lot here, and it never gets boring.
