Daniela has been working at CHECK24 since the beginning of 2019, so she has been involved in setting up the Magdeburg location from the start. In the interview, she tells us more about her participation in the Excellence Program and reveals the crazy customer conversations she has already experienced at CHECK24.
Hello, I'm Daniela; I'm 39 years old and have been with CHECK24 since March 2019. Before that, I worked in various communication companies as a customer consultant, team leader, and trainer. At CHECK24, I work in sales and advise our customers daily on great trips and book them together with them.
You should enjoy talking on the phone and be communicative. It would help if you also were a good listener and patient because our customers don't always instantly know what they want. Sometimes you also have to be able to "hear" between the lines what the customer wants and imagines.
Definitely team office! I like having my colleagues around me, so we can chat sometimes, take a break together or exchange ideas briefly in the kitchen or on the terrace, which I miss in the home office. Nevertheless, I occasionally use the home office days, especially if I have an appointment beforehand, for example, or if my health could be better. At such times, the home office is a great alternative, and I save myself the drive to the office.
Although our location has grown considerably in the meantime, much emphasis is placed on creating a great atmosphere of togetherness. Therefore, professional and personal exchange also takes place across teams.

The CHECK24 Excellence Program is a "thank you program" from CHECK24. Here, one is nominated by the team leader and participates for 12 months. You receive a voucher card that is topped up monthly and can be redeemed at many different partners. In addition, there is a get-to-know-you dinner with the participants and a unique 2.5-day event around Munich; this year, for example, we went to Austria. I was pleased to be a part of it this year because it's another appreciation for my achievements.
There are often funny and curious requests about which one must smile. The craziest was actually once a customer who insisted that she only travels if I could guarantee she could take her two cats with her. Her statement was: "Without my cats, I travel nowhere".
We have grown enormously and now have two locations with us in Magdeburg (Katharinenturm and Hauptwache). There is now free lunch 3 times a week and a team lunch every two weeks. There is also an after-work fridge where you can help yourself at the end of the day and enjoy a beer or champagne on the terrace with your colleagues if you like. We have several sporting events a year that we can participate in, as well as team and company events that occur several times a year. Once a week, we have a trainer at the site who does back training with everyone who wants to. Job ticket and bike leasing are other great benefits that have been added since I started.
CHECK24 does a lot to make employees feel comfortable and happy to come to work. The possibility of switching to a home office is not necessarily a matter of course from my point of view and is very positively received. The teams are small and familiar, yet a lot is done across teams, so you can get to know all your colleagues privately, even though the Magdeburg location is now quite large.
