In September 2022, Sinja started her apprenticeship as a customer advisor in preventive insurance at CHECK24. In the interview, she tells us how her training is going, how she was integrated into the team, and what she enjoys most about her work in the insurance field.
I am Sinja, 23 years old, and I started my training as a clerk for insurance and financial products in September 2022. Before that, I tried studying but dropped out. My training at CHECK24 has turned out to be a very lucky choice.
The tasks in the training are very diverse. As a customer advisor, I am directly in contact with customers who call us and want advice or have questions about their contract. I can help them with their concerns. At the same time, I am responsible for maintaining customer data in our system and risk assessment. You already learn a lot about the key points to pay attention to during consultations.
CHECK24 places great value on customer satisfaction and customer loyalty. Since I always sought customer contact in my part-time job in retail, this fit perfectly. I am happy when I can take people's worries away over the phone, and it gives me a good feeling when you hear how grateful customers are that you also take care of them on a personal level.
Moreover, practical work in training suits me more than pure theory in university because I can quickly apply the content taught to me in school. You are quickly entrusted with your own tasks and can further develop your skills and knowledge in practice. So, it never gets boring because there is always something new to see.
I love my team because I know that they accept me for who I am, and I don't have to pretend to be someone else. Everyone has their own individual ideas, talents and approaches, and CHECK24 appreciates that.

My trainers support me in my work and at school. I am guided through the training process and well-prepared for my exams. I can also talk to them at eye level and receive regular positive feedback. This way, I know that my work is valued.
I also enjoy the time with my team outside of work during outings or after-work parties. My personal highlight is the monthly game night, where we pass the time with video games or board games and get to know colleagues from IT and product management better. I can fully embrace my inner nerd and also have good company.
The tip I always heard but never really understood before my interview at CHECK24 is: Don't pretend and be honest, and that also applies beyond the application. What's important is not that you are already very familiar with the topic or an expert in insurance. What's much more important is that you are open and show interest in what you do. Don't be afraid to ask many questions and be curious. Then you will soon find your dream training at CHECK24.
I look forward to learning something new every day and showing how far I have already developed. Here, I have the opportunity to tackle new projects and tasks repeatedly, so the workday never gets boring. At the same time, working with colleagues is always fun because I know I can rely on them, and new ideas are always welcomed.
