Laura, Product Manager

Hi, I'm Laura, and I am a product manager in the events team at CHECK24 Profis. After studying mechanical engineering and computer science, I gained initial experience in product management in the automotive and IT industries. Wanting to work in a more dynamic environment and take on more responsibility, I switched to CHECK24, where I can fully pursue my passion for innovative solutions.

My main task is to rebuild the comparison side for event service providers such as DJs and wedding photographers. This makes my work particularly diverse, as I am responsible for shaping our customer journey in web and app, as well as developing technical concepts that I closely coordinate with the IT department. It's an exciting mix of creative design tasks and analytical-technical challenges.

In the first step, my focus is designing the user interface and defining the logic of the new features. The development of the technical concept runs parallel to this process. Once this is established, I create the corresponding tickets for the developers and accompany the subsequent implementation process.

Another aspect of my work is to monitor market trends and competitors. The goal is to continuously advance our product and align it with best practices.

I work closely with my team to oversee all phases of the project - from conceptualization through design to testing and release. What I particularly appreciate is the responsibility I can take on in this role and that I see the results of my work almost daily in the releases.

The special aspect of working in our team is the great degree of creative freedom, since we can start developing our the new product from scratch. As a product manager, I see and learn a lot along the way - from the initial idea to the final implementation of a feature.

Especially when building a new product, it's incredibly exciting to be creative and at the same time dive deep into the technical details. The freedom to make decisions and shape the product according to our vision makes the work particularly motivating and fulfilling.

Additionally, design plays a significant role, especially in booking services for personal events such as weddings, where the emotional factor and visually appealing user experience are crucial.

Our team works very interactively, which I greatly appreciate. Developers and product managers sit in the same room, which greatly facilitates communication. This close collaboration ensures that we can quickly give each other feedback and efficiently implement solutions. There is also ongoing sparring among the product managers - we exchange and challenge our ideas and challenges intensively, making the development of our new product even more dynamic and better.

Yes, I'm really looking forward to our next team event! During our last boat tour on the Spree, we were able to get to know each other as a team even better. As we continue to grow, we are already planning the next event! In a workshop here in Berlin, we not only want to discuss the latest developments but also ensure that we grow even closer as a team.
