Daniel, Product Manager Property Insurance
Daniel has been working as a Product Manager in the Property Insurance division at CHECK24 in Frankfurt since December 2023. In the interview, he tells us about his application process and what makes the collaboration in his team so special every day.
Hello Daniel, please introduce yourself briefly.
Daniel:
Hi, I’m Daniel, 24 years old, and I started as a Junior Product Manager for Property Insurance at CHECK24 in Frankfurt at the end of last year. After studying Business Informatics, I worked as a Product Manager in the IT industry for a year. To better align my career with my personal interests, I pursued a master’s degree in Health Care / Insurance Management, which I successfully completed in the fall of 2023.
What exactly are your responsibilities in Product Management?
Daniel:
My tasks as a Product Manager are very diverse, and new exciting challenges await me every day. Specifically, I share responsibility for two areas within our product. On the one hand, I manage the inventory processes that occur after the contract is signed, for example to ensure that our customers always receive the most up-to-date information about their contracts. On the other hand, I maintain constant communication with our partner insurance companies to offer users the best rates in our comparison. I find this combination of customer-facing processes and interaction with our partners particularly exciting.
How did your application process go?
Daniel:
The application process at CHECK24 was super fast, and I was more than pleasantly surprised to have received a job offer just over a week after applying. In the end, only about two weeks passed between submitting my application and my first day at work – for me, this is a perfect example of the flexibility and quick decision-making that is part of everyday life at CHECK24.

What surprised you the most when you started at CHECK24?
Daniel:
What surprised me the most was that from day one, I was directly responsible for exciting topics and could proactively drive them forward. This initial vote of confidence greatly helped me quickly settle into my role as a Product Manager.
What sets your team apart? How do you perceive the collaboration?
Daniel:
We are a very young and dynamic team, and I especially appreciate the open communication within my team. No matter what questions I have about our comparison, processes, or new ideas – I know that I can always get support.
And finally, what advice would you give to recent graduates interested in starting a career in Product Management?
Daniel:
In Product Management, customer focus and flexibility are, in my view, the top priorities. It is essential to always keep the customer experience in mind and be able to respond flexibly to changing requirements. Paying attention to this from the very beginning will help you tremendously in Product Management.
