Hang, Product Manager
Hang has been working at CHECK24 Mietwagen in Augsburg since April 2022. In the interview, she provides exciting insights into her everyday life as a product manager and reveals how app release testing with her team works!
Hello Hang, please introduce yourself briefly.
Hang:
My name is Hang, I am 25 years old, and last year I finished my Master's degree in Communication Science at TU Dresden. I was lucky enough to get a taste of a wide variety of industries as a student, and at the end of my studies, I was still unsure what might suit me and my strengths.
What was always clear to me, however, was that I would like to work in a company that promotes my skills and values a friendly atmosphere. And that's precisely why I've been with CHECK24 Mietwagen in Augsburg since April 2022.
What exactly are your tasks in product management?
Hang:
My day always starts with the daily to-do's, whereby a certain spontaneity and flexibility are essential, as yesterday's topics could have less priority the next day. Lately, I've been working on the redesign of the results tile in the app and evaluating our Rapid User Test, in which test persons tested our car rental app and were recorded.
Even though no day looks the same, there is one constant: at the end of the week, we have our app release testing, which we work towards the whole week. When the product - in this case, our app - is finished with the incorporated features, we put the entire thing through its paces to release the app for the App Store with a clear conscience.
Tell us your top 3 reasons why you like working at CHECK24!
Hang:
My colleagues are the highlight for me because it is unique that we all have the same hands-on mentality and pull together. As we are a pretty young company, you quickly notice that it is amicable here and we always support each other. I also like being in the office because we have many fantastic offers: The catering, our CHECKito lunches where we all order delicious food together, and the great events - varied sports activities, relaxed drink-outs, and cool parties! There is always something on offer that strengthens team cohesion enormously.
Which drink should you have in the office, tea or coffee?
Both! My absolute must-try of our coffee machine: the Chococcino. Attention danger of addiction!

What was the most exciting project you have worked on so far?
Hang:
The conversion of our results tile was particularly challenging and exciting because such a project requires a lot of coordination between the developers of the different applications, an A/B test with a complex evaluation, and intensive testing in the app so that nothing goes wrong when the redesign goes live. After all, the results tile is the business card of car rental offers! But on the other hand, I learned so much in the doing and understood many contexts more precisely as a result. After all, you learn best when you have done it yourself.
How do you perceive the feedback culture at CHECK24?
Hang:
My team has regular coordination meetings in which we receive feedback and suggestions for improvement on our current concepts. But also, through regular feedback from my team leader, I worked on myself and learned a lot at the beginning. So I appreciate that we receive criticism and need for improvement with respect and appreciation, but we can also express it ourselves.
What do you think is the biggest challenge for the coming year?
Hang:
Our constantly growing team is highly motivated and works quickly on upcoming topics - but this also means that we at CHECK24 Mietwagen continue to look for new colleagues to meet the growth. Apart from that, I am looking forward to the coming time, as I can continue focusing on UX and usability! The other day I had an instructive training on "App Usability," and I am excited to learn more.
